Abstract EN

This study aimed to know the level of Lean thinking practices in Mukalla Fish Canning Factory in Hadhramout Governorate from the point of view of employees in its three dimensions (Lean skills, Lean procedures, and Lean behaviors).

The study relied on the descriptive-analytical method for its relevance to the nature of the study, and the questionnaire was used as a tool for data collection, and it was treated statistically using the statistical program (SPSS).

The study population consisted of all the permanent and official employees of Mukalla Fish Canning Factory amounting to (279) official employees, The questionnaires were distributed to a random sample of them facilitated amounting to (120) questionnaires, and (118) questionnaires were valid for the purposes of analysis.

The study concluded that the level of Lean thinking practices in the factory under study from the employees’ point of view was medium with its three dimensions, and it was found that there was no statistically significant difference in the level of Lean thinking practices in the factory under study from the employees’ point of view due to the variable (gender, age and years of experience), while there is a statistically significant difference for the two variables (educational qualification and occupational level).

Among the recommendations of the study is the dissemination of the culture of lean thinking in the factory and prevailing it within the general culture due to the benefits and improvements achieved from it at the operational, administrative, and strategic levels in the factory.
