This research aims to deepen the concept of freedom of some luminaries of the Arab renaissance.

This era witnessed the confluence of the liberal concept of freedom and the heritage meanings of this value.

It appears that Arab renaissance notables - most of them - failed to represent the concept in its philosophical depth and legal dimension for complex historical, political and religious reasons.
