The west was not unique in possessing a rational and critical thinking of reality.

Many other great civilizations had their own rationality.

The Greek philosophy that was at the origin of enlightenment in the west reached the Islamic world when the center of the Islamic empire moved from Damascus to Baghdad, and the Caliph Al-Mamun founded Bayt Al-hikma -The House of Wisdom, which was an observatory, a library and a translation centre in 832 CE.

Yet, many actors believe that rationality is a western specificity that the Arab Muslim world is far from being enlightened.

Observing the humiliation and contempt attributed to Arab Muslims, we tried to use the origins so as to link the past to the present in an attempt to rereading and understanding.
