The article aims to reveal some of the heavy macro-sociological variables that have become, about two decades ago, structuring the current migration act and strongly determine its characteristics and consequences today.

It not only negatively affects the integration of immigrants in the receiving countries, but also contributes to destroying the chemistry of peaceful coexistence between peoples and nations.

This is related to the inflated discourse around the question of identity, the growing phenomenon of Islamophobia, the escalation of economic crises in most of the receiving countries, the growing influence of right-wing populist nationalist parties, and the spread of the theory of the “Great Replacement”.
