Abstract EN

The Arabic language has religious value because it is the language of the Qur'an and worship.

Furthermore, it is one of the international languages, so maintaining and protecting it is an absolute necessity for the Somali Muslim people.

In this regard, the study intends to pay attention to the situation of the Arabic language in Somalia and analyze its components and role, identifying its current opportunity in the Somali community and its daily use in education, media, and communication.

The study was designed with a descriptive analytical approach in data collection and analysis, and the questionnaire was used as a tool for data collection and trend analysis among respondents.

The importance of the study is clear by working on analyzing the current opportunity of the Arabic language in Somalia to make a decision based on the study's findings.

The study seeks to answer two major questions: Are Somalia's Arabic language fundamentals strong or weak? What is the extent to which the Arabic language is used in daily life, education, media, and communication? The study discovered some findings, including: a general weakness in the foundation of the Arabic language, which will inevitably lead to its extinction; and bilingualism that faces Somali teachers in teaching Arabic as a subject in Somali schools, which does not help language skills in a way that allows the Somali student to express himself ‘herself in daily life in a good manner while government departments communicate in English.
