This is an approach that defends enlightenment, which was not only an idea, but rather a great human project, incomplete and always moving towards its unfinished completion.

The Enlightenment is embodied in these ideals: appealing to reason, harnessing science for the sake of humanity's prosperity, respecting human rights and treating human beings as ends in themselves rather than means, adopting the ethics of human universality, confidence in human capacity for progress, and optimism toward the future.

As long as these principles are incomplete and unfulfilled, the enlightenment will remain a project worth defending.

Because this would be a defense of our inherent right as individuals to take our destiny into our own hands, to own our decision, our freedom and our daring to understand and use our minds without guardianship, and to fulfill our universal human identity.
