Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the degree of availability of e-course design skills among faculty members in the College of Basic Education in the State of Kuwait, and the impact of some variables on that.

The study used the descriptive approach, and data was collected through a questionnaire that included (63) sub-skills applied to a sample It consisted of (64) faculty members.

The study concluded that the faculty members’ design skills for e-courses as a whole (analysis skills, design skills, and scenario preparation skills) came to a large degree, (41) minor skills to a large degree, and (22) sub-skills to a medium degree.

The results indicated that there are statistically significant differences about all skills as a whole (analysis skills, design skills, and scenario preparation skills) and the sub-dimensions of each of them due to gender variable, while there are no differences due to the job title variable except choosing the appropriate multimedia for the content of the educational component.

There are no differences regarding the analysis skills and the following dimensions: (Determining the scientific content of e-course, formulating the educational component summary, drafting the introduction to e-course, defining the glossary of terms for e-course, determining e-resources of the e-course, drafting the introductory slide for the course, writing learning slides, writing activity slides and writing the constructivist test slides) due to the variable of experience, while there are differences on the following dimensions: (choosing the methods of teaching e-course and designing the content for it, choosing the appropriate multimedia for the content of the educational component, defining the course activities, procedures for the evaluation process, and creating a page for e-course).
