Abstract EN

Husband-wife violence is a criminal behavior prohibited by Islamic Sharia, since this kind of violence contradicts the major objectives of Sharia for preserving human soul and mind.

Islam instructs people to reject husband-wife violence in all its forms, due to the fact that it is, on the one hand, related to family stability and continuity, and it is related to husband-wife rights guarantee, on the other hand.

Violence between spouses has many causes, including weak religious scruples, lack of commitment to the Islamic approach of choosing spouses, suffocating economic crises, influence of bad friends, negative effect media material, and the like.

Islamic Sharia has sought to provide spouses with appropriate remedies for their problems.

Some of these remedies are resorting to two arbitrators in the event of discord, divorce, khul’i ‘wife-initiated divorce that compensate the husband’, as well as legal separation of spouses.

To ensure that every human being lives in an atmosphere of security, calm and stability, Islamic Sharia has imposed penalties and punishments upon those who try to destroy family structure.
