Abstract EN

The present study aims to identify the applications of perceived self-efficacy theory in the therapy of psychoactive substances dependence Syndrome.

To achieve that goal, the researcher adopted the non-interactive qualitative method to collect partial data from relevant sources.

The most important results of the study are: The applications of the perceived self-efficacy theory help in the therapy of psychoactive substances dependence Syndrome on the basic principle that; in the high-risk situations of abuse, a cognitive process related to the past experiences of abuse becomes expectancy or an idiosyncratic judgment about the dependent’s ability to confront those situations and deal with them.

Expectancies of dependents perceived self-efficacy include: stimulus outcome expectancy, response outcome expectancy, outcome value expectancy, danger expectancy, change expectancy and efficacy expectancy.

Examples of dependents perceived self-efficacy include: resistance perceived self-efficacy, harm-reduction perceived self-efficacy, action perceived self-efficacy, coping perceived self-efficacy and recovery perceived self-efficacy.

Curing substance dependents with the aid of perceived self-efficacy goes through these phases: motivation phase, planning phase, action phase and reform phase.

Curing substance dependents with the aid of perceived self-efficacy goes through these levels: motivating the desired change, achieving change, maintaining the achieved behavior, and generalizing the achieved behavior.

Curing substance dependents with the aid of perceived self-efficacy goes could be achieved by following the following general steps: determining the high risk situations of abuse and arranging them, determining outcome expectancies and outcome values, motivating change and maintaining and generalizing efficacy.

At the end of the study, the researcher proposed a number of recommendations and suggestions based on results and suggestions for further study in the area.
