Abstract EN

The study dealt with the phenomenon of illegal immigration and its impact on the relations between the countries of the Mediterranean basin-the burden of shelter and the navigation risks - which haunts and preoccupies decisionmakers in countries that are exposed to waves of illegal immigration because of its effects and consequences on their societies at various levels, as well as to highlight the impact of this phenomenon On the relations between the countries of emigration and reception and the countries of transit and the burdens borne by these countries and to review the risks facing illegal immigrants, whether during the migration journey or their arrival to transit and reception areas, and their impact on relations between countries.

The study reached the following :Results and Recommendations 1.

The measures taken by states to curb illegal immigration harm migrants, their rights and safety at sea, which leadsto the death of many of them.

Strict conditions on immigration led to the phenomenon of illegal immigration and the emergence of new methods and methods of smuggling, with disastrous consequences for migrants.
