Abstract EN

This study aimed to identify the level of faculty of economics members commitment regarding the professional ethics towards their university, job, colleagues, and the students.

Also, it aimed to determine the differences of the This study aimed to identify the level of faculty of economics members commitment regarding the professional ethics towards their university, job, colleagues, and the students.

Also, it aimed to determine the differences of the respondents' answers towards the degree of commitment to the professional ethics according to gender, academic qualification, academic degree, and specialization.

A cross-sectional, descriptive, quantitative study was carried out by designing a questionnaire as a study tool, then the questionnaire was distributed among 511 faculty members in faculty of Economic at University of Benghazi and its' branches.

521 questionnaires were received from the respondents and they are valid to statistical analysis.

The results showed that the level of faculty members commitment to professional ethics was low generally.

It also showed low level of commitment to the professional ethics towards the university, the job, and students, while the level of commitment to the professional ethics towards their colleagues on the job was medium.

Furthermore, there are no statistically significant differences in the response of the respondents according to gender, academic qualification, academic degree, and specialization.

The study recommended that is very important to issue a code of conduct for professional ethics in the faculty and increasing the awareness of faculty members about the concept of professional ethics and its importance
