Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the degree of the inclusion of citizenship values that must be in the Islamic studies textbooks in primary grades from the viewpoints of primary school teachers in Mecca al-Mukarramah.

to meet such end, the survey-descriptive research approach was used.

a questionnaire consisting of (44) citizenship values, distributed on five domains, that must be in the Islamic studies textbooks in the primary grades was prepared.

the participants of the study were (323) primary school teachers in Mecca al-Mukarramah.

the most important results of the study was that the degree of inclusion of citizenship values related to the ideological and devotional aspects came very large.

the arithmetic mean of the total score for the values of this aspect was (53.17), with a standard deviation of (7.7727).

moreover, the degree of inclusion of citizenship values related to the moral aspect was very large.

the arithmetic mean of the total score for the values of this aspect as a whole was (34.16), with a standard deviation of (6.2078).

the degree of inclusion of citizenship values related to loyalty and belonging was large as well.

the arithmetic mean of the total score for the values of this domain was (31.86), with a standard deviation of (4.7740).

the degree of inclusion of citizenship values related to the aspect of physical education was large as well.

the arithmetic mean of the total score for the values of this aspect was (24.51), with a standard deviation of (5.6085).

the degree of inclusion of citizenship values related to the social aspect was large.

the arithmetic mean of the total score for the values of this aspect was (46.17), with a standard deviation of (9.4958).

on the other hand, there was no statistically significant difference attributed to the qualification variable.

meanwhile, there was statistically significant difference attributed to the experience variable among the mean scores of the participants’ responses.

the study recommended the inclusion of classroom activities in the Islamic studies textbooks which aim at planting and developing citizenship values among primary stage pupils.
