Abstract EN

This research deals with editing the term of incantation (mascot), describing its linguistic and legal meaning, mentioning the images and types included under it, clarifying the ruling of each type, and then explaining the legitimate ways in which the confrontation of magic and witches takes place in addition to the legal mascot, and all this is done using the descriptive and the comparative approach in which the sayings of the scholars are narrated from its original sources, compare them, and give preference to what appears to be correct.

the research concluded that the mascot in the language is taken from opening and solution, and that scholars contradicts in its legal concept into two parts : the first restricts the concept to a specific type and a specific image, and the other expands it and includes everything that is used for the magic.

this difference resulted into difference in the types of mascot so those who extended included in it concept the four major types, and those who restricted included only two types in its concept.

these four major types are (al-nashrah with the help of Holy Qur’an, al-nashra with supplications, al-nashrah with permissible medicines, and al-nashrah with magic), so those who restricted the concepts of the mascot defined it within last two types without mentioning the first two types.
