Abstract EN

The study aimed to benefit from the virtual tours in field training for students of the library and information department in light of the current conditions that hinder field training due to the educational isolation imposed as a result of the "COVID-19".

through a field study conducted in the academic year 2020 / 2021, and the descriptive approach was used to research the study problem.

all students registered to study the “LIB444 field training” course in the study plan of the academic program of the library and information department, college of arts, imam Abdul Rahman Bin Faisal university participated in the study, and their number was (76) students, in (4) classes.

the results revealed that the majority of students, 71.8%, confirmed that they have scientifically benefited from the virtual library tours, 73.6%, said that they enjoyed participating and interacting in those rounds, the results also revealed that 70% enjoyed the user experience and facility of control, on the other hand, the results revealed that the students who participated in the experiment were satisfied about using virtual library tours as part of the field training plan.

the study presented a plan to integrate virtual tours of .libraries into the field training plan for students of the library and information department.

recommendations were also for both academic supervisors, as well as those responsible for managing the academic program in the library and information department, on how to the use of virtual tours in education and training activities, as well as recommendations to library management, whether public or academic, on how to create an effective virtual tour of the library.
