Ancient Arab critics were influenced by philosophy, starting from the two books of poetry and rhetoric by Aristotle, so they dealt with their concept of poetry, distinguished it from prose, and linked poetic imagination to truth or falsehood, and if they studied it implicitly, they dealt with it in different ways, and called for unity in the poetic poem.

the article seeks to highlight the philosophical tendency of the issue of poetry through the introductions to the traditional criticism books of Ibn Tabataba and Qudama bin Jaafar.
