Abstract EN

This study aimed to reveal differences in degrees of shyness and emotional intelligence among university students due to the variable of specialization, the sample consisted of 319 male and female students,(social sciences major: 169, humanities major: 150), were randomly selected from the faculty of humanities and social sciences at medea university, two scales were used: the emotional intelligence scale of the researcher Ahmed al-Alwan (2010), and the shyness scale of (Cheek et Melchiar, 1985) translated by Lulu Hamada and Hassan Abdel-Latif (1999), and modified by the researcher Muhammad Badr al-Ansari nature of the study, and after applying the statistical and social package system (SPSS) the results revealed that: there are differences in the degrees of shyness due to the specialization variable (humanities-social sciences) in favor of the humanities major, and there are differences between students in degrees of emotional intelligence due to the specialization variable (humanities-social sciences) in favor of social sciences.
