Abstract EN

This paper focusses on the Arabic langage that is used in social media and which is written in Latin letters on the one hand, and symbols and numbers on the other hand.

The problem is that this type of language is neither pure Arabic nor a pure forgien language.

This gives birth a new language which is totally different from the standard one.

Hence, how can we tackle the issues of linguistic alienation and fragility at a time when a linguistic awareness linked to identity is needed ? I suggest making use of the international phonetic alphabet as a standard design for the language of social networking sites.

This should be done to have a standardized and unified language that enables both speakers and non-speakers of Arabic to understand it and regardless of their linguistic, geographical and cultural affiliation, And look at the problems it poses.
