This article aims to provide a historical analytical view of the phenomenon of urban growth known to the city of Sétif; In the first element, we discussed the main trends of this urban growth, We showed how urban growth has shifted from the city center to the suburbs; In the second element, we have examined the factors of urban growth in Sétif, With reference to the historical stages of the phenomenon of population growth as one of the main factors of the phenomenon of urban growth in the city; We also discussed the phenomenon of rural migration, experienced by the city of Sétif, and its role in stimulating the phenomenon of urban growth.
