Abstract EN

Contemporary Arab criticism is experiencing a crisis in recognizing the limits of idiomatic expressions, transmitting them, exploiting them and applying them to creative texts, without considering the terminological overlap and the intertwining of knowledge, which led to the emergence of chaos in the level of receiving and employing the term.

Based on this brief proposition, the intervention aims to shed light on an important term in semiotic and cultural studies, which is the term "representation", which defines a kind of confusion in reception, perception and employment within the contemporary Arab critical scene, by extrapolating the similarities, differences and overlap with terms adjacent to it.
