Abstract EN

This research aims to reveal the reasons that motivate parents to abuse and kill their children.

It also seeks to identify the circumstances accompanying abuse and killing.

The research depends on the content analysis method to show the rate of child murders in Egypt from 2015-2020.

So the number of child victims in this period was (133) sons killed by one of the parents.

Second, the research dealt with the theory of social control, social learning, and the cycle of violence to explain the phenomenon of violence against children and abuse of children.

The research revealed that the most common forms of physical violence against children tend to center around pushing, pulling hair, pulling ears, pinching, cloth-grabbing, or shaking.

In addition, they are being hit with a stick, belt, or wooden stick, slapping in the face, or hitting the hands or other parts of the body with various objects.

Furthermore, about 6 out of 10 children worldwide are subjected to corporal punishment by parents every year.

Finally, the research arrived at recommendations to conduct seminars to educate those about marrying.

About how to take care of children, perfectly deal with them, and activate the state's role in intensifying the punishment for parents who abuse and mistreat their children.
