Abstract EN

The present study aimed to identify the level of future anxiety and the quality of life among a sample of Saudi youth in Makkah Al-Mukarramah region, to reveal the nature of the correlation between future anxiety and the quality of life, and to reveal differences in levels of future anxiety and the quality of life that are attributable to demographic variables (gender, marital status, economic status).

The sample size was (313): (125) males, and (188) females, whose ages ranged from 20 to 30 years, with an arithmetic mean of 25.3 years, and a standard deviation of 2.31.

The researcher used two scales: the scale of future anxiety, prepared by Zainab Mahmoud Shuqair (2005) and the quality-of-life scale prepared by Hisham Ibrahim Abdullah (2010).

The study reached a number of findings of which the presence of a high level of future anxiety, the presence of an average level of quality of life, the presence of a statistically significant correlation between future anxiety and quality of life, and the presence of differences in the level of anxiety.

Future anxiety attributed to single marital status, the existence of differences in the quality of life attributed to marital status, the ence of statistically significant differences in the mean scores of future anxiety and quality of life attributable to the variables of gender and economic level.
