Abstract EN

The study aims to assess the distance education process in secondary education institutions in rural areas through the provincial directorate of Sidi Bennouras a model, as an alternative or complementary option to in-class education in light of the Corona pandemic, by monitoring the reality of the experience and its future prospects, by relying on the analytical descriptive approach.

the study combined the quantitative and qualitative approach (questionnaire, individual interviews, focus groups) in order to analyze the overall elements of the educational phenomenon and come up with perceptions about it.

the study found that despite the role of distance education in the educational and learning process in the rural environment during the pandemic, it faces various constraints, which are reflected in the educational attainment of the learner.

some of these constraints are related to the social and economic conditions and the educational level of the families as well.

some other constraints are because of the national educational policies.

thus, all the efforts should be focused on creating an educational environment suitable for the rural environment.
