يتابع المقال الخصائص الصنفية للسرد التاريخي، كما تتبين عند كتابة سيرة الحياة و السيرة الذاتية و الكتابة التاربخية من حيث هي تسجيل للوقائع الخارجية، و ينظر للسيرة بوصفها الكتابة عن تجربة حياة شخص أخر، في حين أن السيرة الذاتية هي الكتابة عن التجربة الذاتية للمرء بقلمة، يحاول المقال الإحاطة بظروف تكون الشرد التاريخي في الثقافة العربية، منذ بدايات تدوين السيرة النبوية في عصر التابعين، حتى نضجها و اكتمالها، ويلم بتاريخية كتابة السيرة الذاتية في الأدب العربي، التي كتبت منذ وقت مبكر، و عرفت باسم "ترجمة النفس"، لا كما تزعم الرؤية الاستشراقية، التي تريد الهيمنة على هذا الصنف.
Abstract EN
The article traces the classical characteristics of historical narrative, informing the biography, autobiography and historical writing in terms of recording external facts.
Biography is the writing of the life experience of another person, while autobiography is writing one’s own experience.
The article delineates the context of the historical narrative in Arabic literature, from the writing of the prophet’s biography, to its maturity.
This marks the beginning of the history of the autobiography in Arabic literature history.
Autobiography is writing the Self, and not as the Orientalist would claim.

L’article retrace les caractéristiques classiques du récit historique, informant la biographie, l’autobiographie et l’écriture historique en termes d’enregistrement des faits extérieurs.
La biographie est l’écriture de l’expérience de vie d’une autre personne, tandis que l’autobiographie est l’écriture de sa propre expérience.
L’article délimite le contexte du récit historique dans la littérature arabe, depuis l’écriture de la biographie du prophète, jusqu’à sa maturité.
Ceci marque le début de l’histoire de l’autobiographie dans l’histoire de la littérature arabe.
L’autobiographie est l’écriture du Soi, et non pas comme le prétendent les orientalistes.
