يتناول هذا البحث ظاهرة هدم المباني و سقوطها في مصر في عصر سلاطين المماليك (648-923 ه / 1250-1517 م)، باعتبارها ظاهرة لافتة للنظر، و جديرة بالدراسة و البحث، و قد دفعت المصادر التاريخية المعاصرة إلى رصدها و الإفاضة في الحديث عنها من حيث أسباب هذا الهدم و أنواعه و آثاره.
و الهدم أو انهيار المباني في الدولة المملوكية كان يقع نتيجة لأسباب عدة، منها الطبيعية مثل: الزلازل أو الأمطار أو الفيضانات أو السيول، و منها البشرية مثل : التوسع في الإعمار، أو إعادة البناء، أو نتيجة لأمر مباشر لمعاقبة شخص أو جماعة ما، أو لتعديها على أملاك الدولة، أو نتيجة للإهمال و ضعف البناء، أو نتيجة للفتن و الثورات، أو بسبب الحروب و المداهمات و الصراعات السياسية، أو بحثا عن الكنوز و الثروات، إلى غير ذلك من الأسباب.
و قد أدى هدم هذه المباني و سقوطها إلى مجموعة من الآثار، يتعلق بعضها بالجانب البشري الإنساني، و البعض الآخر يتعلق بالجانب المادي.
و قد حاول البحث تتبع هذه الآثار، مسلطا الضوء بشكل أكبر على الأسباب التي أدت إلى هدم المباني و سقوطها، و التدليل على ذلك بمجموعة من الأمثلة و الشواهد التاريخية التي أوردتها المصادر المعاصرة.
Abstract EN
This study tackles the phenomenon of building demolition, destruction and collapse in the era of the Mamluk Sultans (648 - 923 H / 1250 -1517) as a topic of interest among modern and contemporary scholars with particular reference to motives, types and impact of such demolition acts.
During the Mamluk State, buildings demolition was triggered natural, human political and economic motives.
The natural causes were earthquakes, heavy rain, flooding, while the human-driven motives included construction expansion, reconstruction, punishing a person or a group, encroaching state property or negligence and poor construction.
Politically-based causes involved wars, raids and storms, and conflicts.
Financial drives for demolishing buildings was to look for treasures and wealth among other reasons.
Building destruction and demolition had an impact at both the human and material levels.
The study shed light on such influences and focused mostly on the triggers and motives behind such demolition and destruction acts, providing ample historical instances from contemporary reference books.
