Abstract EN

This paper aims to elucidate the poetic character and its aesthetics in terms of its reference and imaginative structure.

It necessitated following the narrative structural approach, which enabled us to reveal the structure of the character in the book of Al-Ma’arij.

The paper was divided into an introduction, a preface, two sections, and a conclusion.

The preface touched on the concept of personality and its types, while the first and second sections dealt with the reference and the imaginary character in Ma’arij Ibn Arabi respectively.

The paper concluded that Ibn Arabi, in his Ma’arij, started from his reality and expanded into the horizon of imagination through his characters.

The characters came in the form of signs with specific connotations of varying degrees that showed the writer’s ability to hide and achieve the independence of his text from other texts, the thing which gave this Andalusian narrative discourse an aesthetic dimension closely related to Ibn Arabi.
