Abstract EN

This study aims to reveal one of the mechanisms of argumentative discourse, which is the argumentative fallacies through which the addressee tries to convince the addressed of his idea and support it with arguments in order to mislead him.

we relied on the debates of the prophet “Ibrahim” in which his people debated the abolition of polytheism as a case of study, trying to reveal the argumentative fallacies that people used to defended their gods, explaining how they operate in the argumentative discourse.

the problem of the study is : what are the fallacies adopted by the people of the prophet Ibrahim in their debate with him ? in answer it, we followed the descriptive approach, to monitor in the end the results reached by the contenders.
