The process of financial transparency is an important element in the performance of legislative authority due to its oversight role, given that it presents an accuracy picture about the current financial position and helps to identify financial risks through controlling the expenditure processes or revenues resources.

parliamentary oversight on budget works to strengthen the parliament status in the state as it is a representative institution of people.

in Algeria, the idea of financial transparency is presented on the parliament functions although having legal provisions which devote this concept and accompany all phases of general budget formulation till the submission on chambers of parliament.

at the same time, all financial transparency indexes delivered by international institutions, show the decline of Algeria in the world ranking and classify it among corruption hot spots in the future.

in this spirit, Algeria faces significant challenges that exceed legal provisions to call for the necessity of generating new institutions that function independently from the executive authority and parliament, and adopting new policies for embodying trust between the citizen and its state, hence the need for political will of public authorities in Algeria.
