Abstract EN

Mustafa Al-Ashraf's one of the prominent figures of thought and culture in Algeria.

His thought comprises a critical and conscious view and his conviction of the importance of education and culture in the society.

In this research, we discuss the concept of education and culture in his thought and aim to identify the features of his educational thought and his position on the most important cultural and educational issue in which he had a firm position, the Arabization.

The results of this research: according to Al-Ashraf the formation of generations is a long process that requires a rational effort and an effective educational and an effective educational system that ensures correct education for all.

He believed that Arabization should take place gradually and rationally away from emotional considerations.

The culture he sought is that which acquires self-effort, a culture renewed constantly by modernization.
