Abstract EN

Followers of the Arabic scientific research find that accompaniment is a scientific method which is present in the Western research field, even if it bears a different name.

the accompaniment is the explanation of words and vocabulary.

this theory is considered a meeting point between Arabic lexicographical research and generative grammar ; the principles of determining the authenticity of the sentence established by Noam Chomsky.

therefore, this paper seeks to find out manifestations of generative grammar on the Arabic language heritage in general, and on Arabic dictionaries in particular.

this research focuses on the theory of lexical accompaniment which is considered of great importance by scholars as it helps to enrich and develop Arabic.

accompaniment is used to facilitate the explanation of vocabulary in a simplified way which would result in bringing the lexicon closer to readers.

the latter can be done by relying on the descriptive method, analysis and statistics to inventory the various lexical phenomena in Beb Hamsa in Ibn Faris’ dictionary of language standards.
