In this article is considered as a historical study about the medicine in the city of Hippo-Regius in the time of the Bishop Augustine ; through his various writings to reveal some medical practices in this city (Hippo-Regius) during the fifth century AD, and this according to the medical prescriptions provided by Augustine to the community, and to disclose diseases and try to diagnose and classify them.

as well as his dialogues with the doctors he experienced, and the most important medical knowledge he acquired in Rome during his study and application in his city of Hippo-Regius this study aims to show the place of medicine in the city of Hippo-Regius during the Roman period, especially the 5th century AD, and the extent of the response to methods of prevention of diseases and epidemics, and we try to clarify the role of Augustine in educating individuals and providing medical assistance.
