Abstract EN

The study aims to identify the values contained in school songs in the Arabic language books that are scheduled for pupils of the first three grades of basic education in Sudan.

the study population consists of Arabic language content for the first three grades ; the samples sized (32) is included in these books.

to achieve the objective of this study, the researcher uses the analytical descriptive approach.

the study reveals the following results : the values contained in the songs mentioned in the books under study (87) most of them are religious back ground, and the lowest ones in the cultural and aesthetic fields, the most frequent is the value of faith.

the third book took the largest part of them ; the values contained therein were greater than the sum of the values in the other two books combined.

the educational purpose of teaching the Songs is to provide pupils with high values, ideals and positive attitudes.
