China has adopted several strategies to secure east Turkestan region and attempt to integrate the Uyghur minority into Chinese society.

this article aims to clarify the backgrounds and motives of China in doing so.

the main reached results are that the Chinese attempts to eradicate the cultural and religious affiliation of the Muslim Uyghur minority are not due to China's hostility to Islam.

rather, it is due tosecurity considerations and economic interests in the region, and China's constant fear of political exploitation of the Uyghur minority by some countries, and the loss of this strategic territory.
