The importance of this research lies in explaining the reasons for the need of the Islamic banking industry to apply the principles of governance, and clarifying how it benefited from the application of these principles that contribute to preserving them and avoiding various risks as it works to develop them.

a remarkable development in the financial and operational aspects, especially in the year 2020, and this is based on its annual reports.

the research reached a number of results, the most important of which is that governance plays an important role in the development of the activity of Islamic banks, and for this it is necessary to apply the principles of governance that various bodies and organizations have come to issue, similar to the principles issued by the organization for economic cooperation and development OECD and the Basel committee and the principles issued by the Islamic financial services board Malaysia in the field of Islamic banking.
