Abstract EN

This research aims to study the relationship between the informal economy and the formal economy in Algeria for the period 1990-2000 where many studies around the world indicate that there is a positive direct relationship between the informal economy and the formal economy while there are other studies confirming the existence of a negative inverse relationship between them, this difference is due to the different countries under study.

in this study, the relationship between the informal economy and the formal economy in Algeria was tested ; where the study concluded that there is a positive direct relationship between the informal economy and the formal economy for the period 1990-2020, and that the growth of the informal economy has a positive effect on the expansion and prosperity of the official economy (the growth of the informal economy by one unit causes to the growth of the official economy in Algeria triple).
