The present paper aims to shed light on the use of the popular heritage in the Algerian novels.

for instance, algerian novelists have greatly exploited the popular heritage, and used it their texts, which have made them able to lend the Algerian novel a popular character with a heritage reference.

Mohammed Meflah's novels such as "Humum Ezzaman el Felagui", "Kheira wa al Djebal", and "Safar al Salikeen" are full of popular proverbs.

in fact, he reutilizes popular proverbs in his texts, which lent it an aesthetic value.

moreover, the readers will ask questions about the purpose of such extensive use of proverbs.

thus, this study considers the most important popular proverbs used by Mohammed Meflah in the above-mentioned novels.

in addition, the study focuses on the main implications of these proverbs in the novels.
