Communication in the Arabic language is witnessing a significant decline, which raises several questions about the causes and effects.

despite the efforts made by the educational system to enhance linguistic ability and communicative ability, the actual practice of the language reflects the wide discrepancy between the theoretical objectives of pedagogical approaches, and what is achieved in reality.

it is assumed that the university environment is the most appropriate for the ideal linguistic performance, as it is the center of the linguistic and intellectual maturity of the learners, yet we find a catastrophic reality at the level of performance, and even at the level of cognitive assimilation, and this puts us in front of many problems facing Arabic, ranging from identity to duality, to language teaching Arabic for native speakers.

we chose this environment as a sample for research, in which we wanted, through a field study, to identify the reasons for the decline of linguistic performance in the university environment, by taking the department of Arabic language and literature at the university of Tissemsilt as a model in order to answer the following problems: where is the level of the Arabic learner in terms of performance and understanding despite the ease of vocabulary and structures of the contemporary Arabic language? ! how can the university faculty push the student towards enhancing his linguistic capabilities and investing them in his intellectual, emotional and expressive activity?.
