Abstract EN

The present research paper aims to shed light on a remarkable phenomenon in the Algerian novel.

the latter is violence or terrorism which affected Algeria during the bloody black decade in the nineties.

on the same line of thought, this historical tragedy formed a rich material for Algerian novelists.

in order to interact with the country's current state and to express the Algerian lived reality, in addition to portraying it with all its paradoxes and contradictions, in line with the different opinions and positions regarding this dangerous and complex social and political phenomenon; Salmi Nasser was one of those writers who dealt with the concept of violence from a different angle and perspective.

the difference lies in the way he graded the events of his novel basing them on rumors, and the great impact this thing had on fueling conflicts, the fire of hatred, and inflamed aversion, as well as spreading terrorism, division and disagreement between people.

on this basis, the novelist was intelligent in the way he approached the phenomenon of moral violence represented by Rumour, and how it led to physical violence (terrorism).

furthermore, his artistic and aesthetic ability indicates a fragmented talent in the world of writing and novel creativity considering that "blue tongues" is the writer's first fictional work.

this approach was taken from the textual thresholds, specifically the cover discourse, based on the analysis of the manifestations of violence and terrorism in the novel, and the interpretation of its various semantic dimensions hidden behind the barricades of the discourse represented by the title, the outer cover and the colors.
