The present article focuses on the poetic representation of the desert in Yasmina Khadra's what the mirage owes to the oasis, it examines particularly the way in which the author links prosopopoeia to the spatial imaginary to evoke the memories that marked his life in his native land.
this study will be an attempt to answer the following questions: how is the desert depicted in the romantic universe of Yasmina Khadra? why does he use prosopopoeia to recount it? and how does it play the role of a space of nostalgia and memory? it will be shown at the end that its poetic in Yasmina Khadra's work lies in this stylistic process which serves as a support to express his nostalgia for his native land.

L'article présent porte sur la représentation poétique du désert dans ce que le mirage doit à l'oasis de Yasmina Khadra, il examine particulièrement la façon dont l'auteur relie la prosopopée à l'imaginaire spatial pour évoquer les souvenirs qui ont marqué sa vie dans sa terre natale.
il s'agira, à travers cette étude, d'une tentative de répondre aux questions suivantes: comment se dépeint le désert dans l'univers romanesque de Yasmina Khadra? pourquoi se sert-il de la prosopopée pour le raconter? et de quelle manière joue-t-il le rôle d'un espace de nostalgie et de mémoire? il sera démontré à la fin que sa poétique chez Yasmina Khadra réside dans ce procédé stylistique qui lui sert de support pour exprimer sa nostalgie envers sa terre natale.
