This research paper aims to shed light on the need for the Algerian state to invest in waste recycling as a priority within the context of environmental sustainability, through which the environmental situation is addressed by valuing waste in its various forms, and transforming it from an environmental and economic dilemma into an investment that contributes to supporting the national economy, and creating added economic wealth.

The study concluded with a number of recommendations that focused in their entirety on the need to provide a base for sustainable environmental development that allows improving the socio-economic conditions of citizens and to encourage an effective and efficient system for the collection and treatment of waste,
