Abstract EN

Many universities and schools in Arab countries-including Libya-are witnessing a clear reluctance of students to attend lectures, which has become a phenomenon that threatens the future of our societies.

the study attempts to identify the most important causes of this phenomenon, and discuss them, to come up with proposals, recommendations to reduce it.

a questionnaire form of 100 forms was distributed to students of the English language department / faculty of arts / university of Tripoli, and then its data was emptied during the fall 2019 semester.

the questionnaire contains twelve phrases that are divide into four main axes : personal reasons, the second related to the professor, and methodological reasons, and others.

the main reasons driving university students towards endemism were diagnose, by monitoring the answers, tabulating them statistically, describing, analyzing and arranging them in terms of importance and impact using the triple Likert scale.

the study concluded the following : the sample members agreed that the most important reasons for once are impersonal, and they abandoned their responsibilities by once.

as well as the impact of transportation problems and overcrowding, the discrepancy between the timings of the lectures ; the students also criticized their teachers for being of little use and giving, as well as the difficulty of some of the curricula they teach.
