Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the personal, social and cultural characteristics of African labor coming to Algerian society in general and southern Algeria in particular, and to reveal the reasons behind this African labor influx, which prompted them to leave their indigenous communities.

it also aims to diagnose the social conditions in which they live, the study relied on the descriptive approach and the form as a tool to collect data from the study sample consisting of 29 African workers.

after analyzing the data using iterations and percentages, the study reached a set of results, the most important of which are : -African migration included workers from different age groups and from different educational levels, it was not limited to one group without another, as it included males more than females, but as for their social and cultural characteristics, they are not very different from what prevails in the Algerian social and cultural reality.

-there is a group of motivations behind the African influx into Algerian society, foremost of which is the search for work, which has become absent in many African societies with high levels of unemployment.

-the social and cultural conditions of migrant workers generally reflect that they live in miniature societies similar to their indigenous societies.

this enables them to reproduce the original social and cultural life.

however, this did not prevent them from participating in Algerian life by linking social relations mainly represented in friendships, and participation in some Algerian customs and traditions.
