Translation is a human activity that dates back to the dawn of time.
indeed, it was already essential for the first peoples speaking different languages to ensure permanent and effective interaction.
today, it has not only become ubiquitous but has evolved to appear in a new way.
thanks to technological development, particularly in the field of it, translation has been able to take advantage from certain functionalities capable of optimizing the act of translation and easing along the way the translator’s task.
the latter finds himself / herself, unlike his fellows of past centuries, well "armed" for providing his / her services.
the weapons are none other than technological tools that abound, day after day, to the great dismay of the translator, who no longer knows which tool to turn to! thence, we found useful to review the main tools that may help translators to speed up the translation process and improve the quality of the final product.

La traduction est une activité humaine qui remonte à la nuit des temps.
elle était, en effet, déjà indispensable pour les premiers peuples parlant des langues différentes afin d’assurer une interaction permanente et efficace.
aujourd’hui, elle est non seulement devenue omniprésente, mais elle a évolué pour apparaître sous de nouveaux jours.
grâce au développement technologique, notamment dans le domaine de l’informatique, la traduction a pu tirer profit de certaines fonctionnalités à même d’optimiser l’acte traductif et faciliter par la même occasion la tâche du traducteur.
ce dernier se retrouve, contrairement à ses confrères des siècles passés, bien «armé» pour fournir ses prestations.
ses armes ne sont autres que des outils technologiques qui pullulent, jour après jour, au grand désarroi du traducteur qui ne sait plus vers quel outil se vouer! de là, nous avons jugé utile de passer en revue les principaux outils qui pourraient aider les traducteurs à accélérer le processus de traduction et à améliorer la qualité du produit final.
