The study sought to understand the American role in a crucial stage in the history of Algeria, starting from the uprising in 1954 until the demarcation of bilateral relations and the American position on the course of the Evian negotiations.

to that the United States attached importance to shaping the features of the Algerian state in parallel with the political and strategic ties with the French ally and within the framework of the Western bloc, as well as the American interests towards the North African region.
