Abstract EN

This research aims to present one of the main issues addressed by researcher Khawla Taleb al-Ibrahimi in her book "the Algerians and their languages", which is to re-describe and analyze the sociological situation in Algeria by adopting a dynamic approach to the relations between the various linguistic variations prevailing in Algerian society.

the research concluded that the classic Ferguson schematic based on the two concepts of and diglossia bilingualism does not meet the purpose of properly describing the linguistic situation in Algeria in a procedural way, as there are no solid barriers between the coexisting languages in society, due to the presence of overlap between classical and colloquial in formal and ordinary situations, as well as that the bilingualism (between Arabic and French), (Arabic and Tamazight) and (French and Berber) not fixed as well, and that the functional distribution is between them is uneven, which has caused a lack of sociological homogeneity in society.
