Abstract EN

The aim of this study is to identify the phonological deletion phenomenon in Ibn Al-Shjari's interpretation of phonological deletion in sentence structure, and explaining the underlying reasons of such deletion phenomenon as evidenced in Ibn Al-Shjari's, and the purpose of such deletions The study is organized into sections.

The first section discusses the interface between morphology and phonology.

The second defines the concept of phonological deletion and its purpose.

The third section deals with the reasons for phonological deletion as evidenced in Ibn Al-Shjari Amali.

The fourth section addresses the purpose of phonological deletion and examples of consonant deletion.

The study concluded with the findings that Arabic scholars had interest in systematic phonology which studies the effect of assimilation of speech sounds with each other in works including Ibn Al-Shjari, and that the phenomenon of phonemic deletion happened due segments assimilation in the sword and sentence structure.
