Abstract EN

There is no doubt that the trend towards entrepreneurial activity has become an vital necessity, mainly after the new changes that Algeria has witnessed, as it seeks to support entrepreneurship by adopting strategies to advance its economy and achieve economic and social development.

we seek in this study to shed light on small and medium enterprises as a mechanism to support entrepreneurship in Algeria by presenting their contribution to the economic and social aspect during the period of (2011-2021).

to achieve this, we conducted a descriptive and analytical study of the statistical publications of small and medium enterprises issued by the ministry of industry and mines during the study period.

the results showed the importance of the contribution of private Algerian small and medium enterprises in employment and added value, however, its contribution to exports is still very small.
