Abstract EN

This study aimed to measure the impact of the energy transition on the consumption of fossil fuels in Germany during the period 1990-2021.

to this purpose, the vector autoregressive model VAR (3) was used.

the study concluded that there is an opposite and significant effect in the short term between the variables of the study (energy transition and fossil fuel consumption) that is, the greater the energy transition, the lower the consumption of fossil fuels in Germany.

thus the study recommended the need to move towards renewable energies and get rid of energy dependence, as demonstrated by the recent Russian-Ukrainian crisis and its repercussions on the countries of the European union, especially Germany.
