This study aims to shed light on one of the most dangerous weapons of mass destruction, which is chemical weapons and their proliferation, and the international efforts made for the disarmament of chemical weapons through international conventions and international mechanisms for chemical disarmament, especially the United Nations as the first sponsor of peace in the world, and In this study, we concluded that despite the existence of charters and mechanisms, the spread of chemical weapons is still strongly suggested for several reasons, including the lack of ratification by some countries and the weakness of control mechanisms due to political factors, and the rapid scientific development that contributed to the spread of these weapons even to the parties Non-states such as terrorist groups.
