Abstract EN

This study focused on the theme “the sources of professional stress and its link with mental health among administrators of public hospitals”.

a field study at the hospital specialized in musculoskeletal system, Ben Aknoun hospital, Algeria.

this study aimed to reveal the level of professional pressures facing the administrators of Ben Aknoun hospital, and also to reveal the main sources behind the emergence of these pressures among these administrators, in addition to identifying the difference between them in exposure to these sources according to the sex variable, as this study attempted to also reveal the real level of mental health in the administrator, and finally to reveal the nature of the relationship that exists between the variables sources of professional stress and the level of mental health among the administrators of Ben Aknoun hospital.

this study was conducted on a sample of (67) administrators.

in the results of this study, we found that the administrators of Ben Aknoun hospital suffer from high professional pressures, as it was found that approximately (72.6%) of the sample members of this study have a high level of work pressures, and this is due to sources related to each of working conditions, workloads, industrial relations, management policy in the health sector, wages and incentives, professional growth and development and the social status of the administrator, and there was no divergence between them concerning exposure to sources of professional pressures due to the gender variable.

we also found through this study that the administrators of Ben Aknoun hospital enjoy a high level of mental health and that there is no inverse correlation between the sources of professional stress and the level of mental health.
