In light of the exacerbation of the risks of excessive exploitation of fossil fuel sources on the environment on the one hand, and the increase in global demand for energy on the other hand, the energy transition towards the exploitation of renewable energies is no longer just an option, but has become an imperative necessity that requires effective international attention.

From this point of view, this study aims to give concepts about the energy transition and renewable energies, while standing on the most important strategies adopted by Algeria to embody the energy transition, and the trend towards the exploitation of renewable energies.

The study concluded that the energy transition process is based on the transition from a system of energy production and consumption that is based on fossil fuel sources to an energy mix that is more exploitative of renewable energy sources, which contributes to reducing pollution rates and its damage to the environment, and increasing energy supply, and the process of energy transition It requires the availability of a legislative and legal environment and the establishment of bodies and institutions that control and control the implementation and progress of the process, which is what Algeria has followed in its adoption of the energy transition policy and the trend towards the exploitation of renewable energies, within a legal and institutional framework to support and promote the exploitation of renewable energies.
